Choose the destination before final layout
A wide software demonstration and a portrait feed clip offer different space for labels, captions and context. Decide where the viewer will watch before committing to a dense frame. Fliki advertises several output aspect ratios, but a supported shape does not guarantee that a particular composition works in it. A broad comparison table may need a different sequence rather than a smaller font when moved to portrait.
Protect the essential detail
Identify the visual element the viewer must recognize in each scene. Keep it visible after cropping and leave room for captions and interface overlays. A face centered automatically is not necessarily the most important subject. For a product demonstration, the critical control may sit near an edge. Inspect the actual export at an ordinary viewing size instead of relying on the large editing canvas or an attractive thumbnail.
Create variants with a shared factual source
Maintain one approved message, but allow layout and timing to differ. A portrait version may need two scenes to communicate what a landscape version shows at once. Keep the same conditions and source facts in both. Do not remove a warning to make a shorter format feel faster. Record which script version each variant uses so later corrections do not leave a misleading copy on another destination.
An illustrative reframe
A fictional tutorial compares two subscription settings side by side. In portrait, the labels become too small, so the editor shows the first option, then the second, then a concise decision card. The comparison remains meaningful without preserving the original composition. Review captions and audio transitions in the revised sequence. This example demonstrates editorial adaptation, not a guarantee that any automatic resize feature will perform these decisions correctly or that a specific ratio improves engagement.
