Use the sentence that is hardest to say
A generic greeting is a poor audition for a technical explainer. Choose a passage containing the product name, a number, a short instruction and a natural pause. Decide how those elements should sound before evaluating a voice. The aim is not to find the most dramatic narrator; it is to make the message understandable without distracting emphasis, clipped endings or an inappropriate emotional tone.
Keep the listener and context in view
A training clip, a customer welcome and a product announcement can require different delivery. Avoid treating an accent as a universal indicator of authority or quality. Where the material serves a particular language community, involve an appropriate reviewer. A voice that sounds fluent to a non-speaker may still mishandle names or phrasing. Do not assume that a large advertised voice catalog guarantees the right option for your audience.
Make the cost comparison conditional
Voice choices may consume different units or have different plan access. Check the current account indicator and intended use rights. Our budget worksheet accepts a rate supplied by the reader; it does not silently choose the cheapest voice or claim that quality rises with price. Keep sample production bounded, and do not clone a person’s voice merely to avoid choosing a licensed stock option. Permission and purpose remain separate decisions.
An original selection note
For a fictional onboarding video, record the chosen narrator, language, checked passage and the reason for selection: clear pronunciation of the two product names, calm delivery and a pace compatible with the diagram. Also record the unresolved issue, perhaps an acronym that still needs correction. This note is more useful for the next editor than a vague preference for a natural voice. Recheck after substantive script changes rather than assuming the original audition covers every later sentence.
