A reader can scan; a viewer follows time
A written article lets someone skip headings, revisit a table and follow a source link. A linear video controls the pace more tightly. That changes what belongs in the adaptation. Select the one question the video should answer and retain a route back to the detailed article. A concise video may introduce a decision without replacing the full reference. More compression is not automatically a better explanation.
Keep source authority attached to the claim
Review the article’s dates, qualifications and supporting evidence before converting it. If a statistic or product condition has changed, update the source before it becomes confident narration. Do not treat a URL-import feature as permission to reuse someone else’s writing or images. Use material you are entitled to adapt and distinguish your interpretation from the original source. An automated summary can omit precisely the exception a careful reader needed.
Replace website structure with a visual sequence
Remove menus, newsletter prompts and repeated introductions from the production copy. Give each retained point a visual purpose. A table might become a two-option comparison rather than a screenshot of unreadable cells. Preserve the important boundary in narration or on-screen text. Keep a written companion for detail that cannot be communicated clearly in the available time, instead of accelerating the voice through a dense list.
An illustrative adaptation boundary
A fictional article compares three ways to organize a support queue. Its video could explain only when a shared inbox stops being enough, using a simple incoming-request diagram. It need not recite all the product comparisons. End with the specific next question and link to the full article where appropriate. Evaluate the video as its own explanation, checking visuals, captions and omitted conditions. This method does not claim that Fliki or Pictory automatically produces a faithful summary of every source.
