Separate the master from the delivery file
The final export is valuable, but it may flatten narration, graphics and captions into one file. Keep the approved script and original assets separately so a future correction does not require reconstructing everything from the rendered output. Record the tool and settings used where practical. Do not assume that another editor can import a merchant’s project format merely because both can work with the same video file.
Keep the evidence with the asset inventory
Store the source references, permitted-use notes and review decisions that explain why the video was released. Avoid putting private personal information into a broadly shared production folder. A rights record should be accessible to the appropriate owner without becoming public content. If a license or permission has a time or purpose boundary, make that visible to whoever might reuse the material in a later campaign or revision.
Test recoverability before it matters
Identify which files can be exported under the current plan and what remains dependent on the service. Inspect at least one permitted output rather than assuming that a download control covers captions, editable scenes and original audio equally. Do not cancel an account or delete a project as a test. A recovery plan is useful only if the necessary files are available and someone knows which version is approved.
An original archive checklist
For a fictional explainer, the archive contains the checked script, clean source images, approved narration, caption text, final landscape and portrait files, and a short destination/version note. The record also lists what was not preserved, such as proprietary editing state. That limitation informs later maintenance. This is an editorial inventory, not a claim that every listed format is exportable from Fliki or that local possession grants unrestricted rights. Confirm actual export support and retain only material you are entitled to keep.
