Pictory alternatives: 5 tools compared by price

Pictory alternatives: the short list

The five Pictory alternatives compared here are Fliki, Lumen5, invideo AI, HeyGen and Synthesia. Pictory sets the baseline: Starter is $29 a month, billed monthly, or $25 a month, billed annually, with 200 video minutes a month and no watermark, and Pictory also offers a 14-day trial of 15 video minutes.

Fliki: a free plan and a voice clone on Standard

Fliki Standard costs $28 a month, billed monthly, or $21 a month, billed annually ($252 a year), and includes 1 voice clone. Pictory lists voice cloning from Professional, which is $59 a month, billed monthly. Unlike Pictory's 14-day trial, Fliki's free plan, which its pricing page labels "Free forever", asks for no card: 3 credits a month, 720p video exports and a watermark.

Fliki's limit is its unit: it sells credits spent per operation, not video minutes. Fliki vs Pictory compares credits against minutes plan by plan.

Lumen5 and invideo AI

Lumen5 Basic is $29 a month, billed monthly, or $19 a month, billed yearly. It lists unlimited videos with no Lumen5 branding, 720p exports and 10-minute videos, and its free plan allows 5 videos a month of up to 2 minutes with a Lumen5-branded outro. Its limits: Basic lists 240 AI voice minutes a year on yearly billing, and 1080p starts on Starter, $79 a month, billed monthly.

invideo AI sells credits per seat in Basic, Pro and Ultra plans, 190 to 3,000 credits a month, and unused credits do not roll over. Its price is on the vendor's page.

HeyGen and Synthesia for a presenter on screen

HeyGen Creator is $29 a month, billed monthly, with videos up to 30 minutes, 1080p export and voice cloning. Its free plan gives up to 3 videos a month of up to 1 minute. The limit: Creator's 600 credits are a different unit from Pictory's video minutes.

Synthesia's free Basic plan lists 10 minutes of video creation or dubbing and carries a Synthesia watermark, and Starter lists 125+ avatars. Its paid prices are on the vendor's page.

Which Pictory alternative to pick, and when to stay

• Fliki for a free plan to start on, and a voice clone from Standard.
• Lumen5 for unlimited videos at 720p on a low plan.
• HeyGen for avatar videos up to 30 minutes.
• Synthesia for an AI avatar presenter, starting on its free Basic plan.
• invideo AI for credit tiers sold per seat.
• Pictory for video minutes instead of credits: annual plans give the full year of minutes up front, its script or link generator makes videos up to 30 minutes on every paid plan, and it counts PowerPoint decks in slides, 100 a month on Starter.

Pictory's limits: Starter lists 60 minutes of ElevenLabs voices, Team is $199 a month, billed monthly, for 3+ users, it gives no refunds on paid subscriptions, and its page says to download your videos before you cancel. For wider lists, see best AI text to video generator and Fliki alternatives.
