HeyGen alternatives: 4 tools for avatars, voice and video

HeyGen alternatives: the short list

The four HeyGen alternatives worth pricing are Synthesia, Fliki, Pictory and ElevenLabs. Synthesia is the closest match for an avatar presenter, and Fliki fits narrated scenes with avatars on its Premium plan. HeyGen's own Free plan allows up to 3 videos a month, and Creator is $29 a month, billed monthly. Fliki Premium, the plan with all AI avatars, is $88 a month, billed monthly, as read on 6 October 2026.

Synthesia: another avatar presenter

Synthesia's pricing page lists 125+ avatars on Starter, and its Basic plan is free, with 500 credits a month, a free allowance of 10 minutes of video creation or dubbing, and a Synthesia watermark on videos.

Its price is on the vendor's page. Fliki vs Synthesia sets the two side by side.

Fliki: narrated scenes with avatars on Premium

Fliki turns a script, blog post or slide deck into narrated scenes, and avatars are an extra on that job. Standard is $28 a month, billed monthly, with limited stock avatars. Premium is $88 a month, billed monthly, with all AI avatars and photo avatars on its plan card. Fliki's Free plan, 3 credits a month with no card and 720p video with a watermark, has no avatars.

Avatars also spend credits: Fliki's credit guide charges a stock avatar 0.25 credits per second. HeyGen's Free plan, by comparison, lists 500+ stock video avatars. Fliki vs HeyGen goes plan by plan.

Pictory and ElevenLabs for voice and custom avatars

Pictory Professional is $59 a month, billed monthly, and is where Pictory adds voice cloning and custom avatars; Starter, at $29 a month, billed monthly, has neither. Pictory counts its allowance in video minutes, and Starter gives 200 a month.

ElevenLabs is audio first. Creator is $22 a month, billed monthly, and adds professional voice cloning. Starter is $6 a month, billed monthly, with a commercial license, instant voice cloning and a dubbing studio. Its pricing page also lists an Image & Video product.

When HeyGen still fits

Stay with HeyGen when a presenter should appear in every video. Creator is $29 a month, billed monthly, or $24 a month at $288 billed yearly, as HeyGen prints it. It allows videos up to 30 minutes, and monthly subscribers' unused credits roll over for one more month.

Fliki's FAQ says it cannot refund a paid plan, so judge a presenter first on HeyGen's Free plan or Synthesia's free Basic plan. Pick Synthesia for an avatar presenter, ElevenLabs for voice cloning and dubbing, and Fliki for narrated scenes; Fliki alternatives lists more.
